SCENIC were invited to re-imagine the landscape for headquarters of one of the largest Hong Kong banks as part of general upgrading of the existing building. The landscape is designed to provide a space for staff to relax, breakout spaces and a venue for functions. The design explores the relationship between the exterior landscape, the wider urban landscape and the interior banking hall.. In the congested centre of Hong’s Business District this landscape is designed  to provide a tranquil respite, a place for reflection. The design takes inspiration from its context, forming an extension of the façade structure and fenestration in the design of space and unitization of hard landscape and soft components. The water mirror provides for flexible space and programming. The planting of small trees both creates human scale and forms a key constituent of the picturesque tableau, the focus of the banking hall.
